Abstract
The unexpected and sad news of the death of Dr. Dubravko Lovrenović, professor at the History Department of the Faculty of the Humanities in Sarajevo, corresponding member of the Academy of Science and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, long-term member of the Commission to Preserve National Monuments, and prominent scholar, reached us in January 2017. Though he had spent the last few months of his life in hospital, we had been keenly expecting to hear that his health had improved, so that we were unprepared for the loss of this strong and energetic man, so full of enthusiasm and love of life. It is hard to accept that he is no longer with us, and that we can no longer turn to him for help and advice.
