Materials on traditional Bosniak attire of the Srebrenica region: Ljiljana Beljkašić-Hadžidedić's research on the traditional costumes of refugees from Srebrenica

Abstract

In this text, we present only the basic archival material on traditional costumes collected by Ljiljana Beljkašić-Hadžidedić, a curator at the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina. She gathered this material during preparations for fieldwork while working with refugees from Srebrenica following the genocide committed against Bosniaks in this town. The research project on the displaced population of Eastern Bosnia was not approved until 2008, by which time Beljkašić-Hadžidedić had already retired and did not conduct fieldwork alongside the other experts from the National Museum of BiH. A portion of the collected archival material, at least regarding the collected oral poems, was published in GZM (E) NS, volume no. 51 in 2022. The text left behind by Beljkašić-Hadžidedić was edited by curator Lebiba Džeko, MA.
