Sensitivity assessment and extinction risk of amphibians (Chordata: Vertebrata: Amphibia) in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Apstrakt

In this paper, we present the sensitivity assessment of amphibians of Bosnia and Herzegovina according to DELH (Distributional, Ecological, Life History) data based on 17 parameters. Most sensitive species of amphibians in Bosnia and Herzegovina are: Proteus anguinus, Salamandra atra, and Triturus dobrogicus, due the specific ecology and small habitat range. Nine amphibian taxa are considered to be moderately sensitive, while nine species probably belong to the low sensitivity group. Results indicate that Caudata are a much more threatened taxonomic group when compared to Anurans.
