Abstract

The paper sets out the principal findings of the analysis of the pottery from the Bronze Age sites of Crno polje, Barice, Sječkovo and Topolovaca bregovi in northern Bosnia. These
revealed a small proportion of decorated sherds belonging to the Barice-Gređani cultural group – between 52.5 and 7% – and that by comparison with Neolithic pottery, this was coarse pottery of much poorer quality, of simple shapes that remained in use over a long period; it was also found that the finds from the necropolis do not differ significantly either typologically or in quality from those of the settlement. Fragments of rims constitute 12-15% of the pottery
sherds, and in the absence of any more complete vessels, these were used for a partial typological classification of the material.
