Abstract

In 2015 a geophysical survey was conducted on the site of the prehistoric pile dwelling site of Ripač near Bihać, including the area of Velika otoka, where the remains of prehistoric pile dwellings were found during earlier investigations conducted by Radimský, Fiala, Ćurčić and Raunig. The site has now been significantly altered by various construction and landscaping works. The geophysical survey covered an area that has not previously been investigated, with the aim of determining the archaeological potential within the area as yet unaffected by archaeological investigations and similar works. The results revealed that the area in question contains the remains of more recent buildings, such as the former sawmill, as well as those for which there are no known historical data, suggesting the presence of archaeological potential on the unexplored area on Velika otoka on the Una, an integral part of the prehistoric settlement of Ripač
